Who is Sharon Oliensis?
Her practice is a living synthesis of lifelong study and devotion. In addition to her foundational training in Feldenkrais and ABM, she has studied and practiced:
Chi Gung and Tai Chi – cultivating internal energy and fluid strength
Shiatsu and Jin Shin Jyutsu – ancient systems of healing touch
Aikido – the art of harmonious movement and centered response
Gurdjieff Work – a contemplative path of self-inquiry and awakening
Sharon’s approach is not about fixing, diagnosing, or correcting. It is about listening deeply—to the body, the moment, the unfolding intelligence within each client. Her work invites a kind of healing that is gentle, profound, and often surprising: a return to natural movement, vibrant presence, and quiet joy.
Sharon Oliensis brings over 40 years of experience in somatic healing, guided by a deep belief in the intelligence of the human body and the resilience of the human spirit.
Raised between Wisconsin, New Jersey, and Africa, Sharon’s early life was shaped by a rich diversity of landscapes, rhythms, and ways of being. Her love for movement began early and led her to Macalester College, where she studied both the intellect and the body. But it was in New York City—through years of dancing, choreographing, and teaching—that her understanding of embodied life deepened and matured.
Eventually, her path brought her to the Feldenkrais Method and the Anat Baniel Method NeuroMovement®, where she discovered a profound approach to learning and healing through movement. For over four decades, Sharon has worked with people of all ages and abilities—helping children with special needs, adults in pain, and seekers of all kinds reconnect with themselves through awareness.
